#HAM RADIO SOFTWARE FOR MAC WINDOWS#
Some radio programming software only runs on Windows too although there are some workarounds for some things. But sometimes I like to get in on a contest and there's nothing like N1MM+ on Linux. TQSL has a Linux version so I can upload logs to LOTW just fine. For lots of stuff I like to do, Linux works just fine. I really like using Linux and I try to use it whenever I can. Depending on what you want to do though, Linux might be good enough. Windows is the one that'll get you everything. I have heard that WinTest runs pretty well under Wine though, so that's probably the best option available at the time being. There is some Linux contest logging software available (off the top of my head Tučňák, yfktest, tlf, So2sdr), but when I tried them I always found them lacking (though don't ask me now to list what exactly my issues with either was). What I am dearly missing though is a contest-logging software that holds up to WinTest, DXLog or N1MM+. Xastir together with direwolf or soundmodem for APRS, or Chirp for VHF/UHF radio programming. I also know that there is some software available for other things I have not used to far, e.g. For general-purpose logging, CQRLog should cover all needs.SDRAngel, GQRX, Quisk, pihpsdr and linhpsdr support a decent range of different SDR hardware. For simple rig control, I have used Grig and flrig.Digital modes are pretty well covered with WSJT-X, FreeDV and fldigi.I have fared pretty well with ham software on Linux so far: r/amateursatellites/ - Satellite weather RX /r/Amsat - Amateur Radio Satellites r/mursradio/ - related to the Multi-Use Radio Service in the USA. r/hamcasters - ham related youtube, podcasts and more r/hamdevs - Hardware/Software Development r/flexradiosystems - Flex Your SDR Muscles
